Traditional Lebanese Kebbeh Recipe with Pine Nuts

This authentic Lebanese kebbeh features the wonderful flavor of Lebanese pine nuts. Hand-collected from the tall trees of Mount-Lebanon, these premium pine nuts have a distinct sweet, buttery taste that complements the spices in this dish.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground lamb
  • 1 cup fine bulgur wheat
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup Lebanese pine nuts
  • 1 tbsp Seven Spices (mix of allspice, black pepper, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, ginger, paprika)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Soak the bulgur wheat in cold water for 20 minutes then drain well.
  2. In a bowl, combine the ground lamb, bulgur wheat, onion, pine nuts and seasonings. Knead to a soft dough.
  3. Wet hands and divide mixture into walnut-sized balls. Flatten each into an oval shape.
  4. In a skillet, heat oil over medium high heat. Add kebbeh and cook 3-4 minutes per side until nicely browned.

These Lebanese kebbeh have a wonderfully nutty flavor and aroma from the pine nuts. Enjoy this traditional Middle Eastern dish as an appetizer or main meal.
