This authentic Lebanese kebbeh features the wonderful flavor of Lebanese pine nuts. Hand-collected from the tall trees of Mount-Lebanon, these premium pine nuts have a distinct sweet, buttery taste that complements the spices in this dish.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground lamb
- 1 cup fine bulgur wheat
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1/4 cup Lebanese pine nuts
- 1 tbsp Seven Spices (mix of allspice, black pepper, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, ginger, paprika)
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- Soak the bulgur wheat in cold water for 20 minutes then drain well.
- In a bowl, combine the ground lamb, bulgur wheat, onion, pine nuts and seasonings. Knead to a soft dough.
- Wet hands and divide mixture into walnut-sized balls. Flatten each into an oval shape.
- In a skillet, heat oil over medium high heat. Add kebbeh and cook 3-4 minutes per side until nicely browned.
